105, 122, 152 and 155 mm artillery ammunition bodies.

The artillery projectile body has to carry the high pressure and heat inside the barrel at the moment of firing while holding its shape throughout the flight. The outside diameter and surface finish of the body directly affect the obturation of the projectile in the barrel and therefore its range.
Uniform wall thickness at every point is critical in these parts; an unbalanced body tumbles in flight. Centring error during turning and machining is held at micron level, after which every part passes dimensional and surface inspection. Material integrity is separately verified, since even the smallest crack changes behaviour.
