M-LOK and rail integration system; Aluminium AL6013.

The handguard is the forward body that surrounds the barrel and where the user grips the weapon. It does two jobs at once: it insulates the user's hand from the barrel as it heats up during firing, and it provides the surface on which accessories such as sights, flashlights and forward grips are mounted.
M-LOK is an open interface standard that allows accessories to be attached through slots cut directly into the body. It is lighter than a classic Picatinny rail because rail teeth are fitted only where needed. We chose the AL6013 alloy because it offers strength close to 7075 while being more amenable to welding and forming; this makes a thin-walled, light yet torsion-resistant body possible.
