Barrels
What it does

Purpose

The barrel is where the energy released by the propellant gas is transferred to the projectile. The rifling on its inner surface spins the projectile about its own axis; this spin keeps the projectile stable in flight and delivers accuracy. The barrel is the single part that determines the accuracy of a weapon more than any other.

Why we produce it this way

Our production choice

We apply a three-stage production process. Gundrilling opens a long, straight bore — deviation from the axis must be held at micron level here, otherwise the barrel bends when heated. Reaming brings the surface to its final dimension and removes roughness. Rifling then cuts the grooves. Length options vary by intended use: short barrels are for close range and manoeuvre in confined spaces, while longer barrels give the bullet more acceleration distance and extend effective range.
